General Info
Common Name: Lyre Leaved Sage
Scientific Name: Salvia lyrata
Location: On the perimeter trail near the edge
Description: *16 to 24 inches in height
*square, slightly hairy, stem with blur or violet tubular flowers
* leaves form a basal rosette,and can grow up to 8" long
*often have dark red or purple areas along the main veins
*small violet flowers
Habitat: Common in dry woods, barrens, roadsides, lawns and waste places.
*found as far north as New York and as south as Florida
*as far west as Texas and Illinois
*Not toxic
*In high grass
Toxicity: Is not toxic
